Anita Kaul trained in Fetal Medicine with Professor Kypros Nicolaides at Kings College Hospital,London. She returned back to Delhi to start the Apollo Fetal Medicine Unit as a separate unit in August 2006.The Unit is slowly getting established as a referral unit for a variety of chromosomal screening tests ,diagnosis and management of fetal abnormalities.
This is the only unit in North India accredited with the Fetal Medicine Foundation UK for 1st Trimester Downs syndrome screening. Regular teaching and training programmes are organized by her. Her main area of interest is in Downs syndrome screening and in- utero fetal therapy.

Dr. Prathima is trained in Fetal Medicine from the premier centre Harris Birthright Research Centre for Fetal Medicine at King’s College Hospital, London under Professor Kypros Nicolaides. She has obtained her certificates of competency in various aspects of fetal scanning and in-utero invasive procedures, both diagnostic and therapeutic.
Dr. Prathima Radhakrishnan is the first Indian to get the Diploma in Fetal Medicine from the Fetal Medicine Foundation, UK.
She is very passionate about fetal medicine and totally committed to the cause. Her special interest is in Fetal therapy, Early diagnosis of fetal abnormalities and Pre-pregnancy counseling for fetal anomalies.
She is actively involved in training doctors in Obstetric scanning. She goes around the country doing the First trimester / NT screening workshops and has examined and certified several sonologists to perform the NT scan.

There are only handful of doctors in India to have Research Fellowship from Fetal Medicine Foundation-UK and Dr Rachna Gupta is one of them.
Dr. Gupta did her M.S. (Obs. & Gyn.) from B. J. Medical College, Ahmedabad. Right after her PG, she joined Dr Anita Kaul at Apollo Centre for Fetal Medicine for one year.
She worked at King’s College Hospital of London, UK with Professor Kypros Nicolaides, where she completed all her FMF certifications within 10 months.
Research – she worked extensively on “First Trimester Screening for Preterm Delivery” in UK and collaborated with Dr Anita Kaul in various research projects during her fellowship.
After coming back to India, she worked at AIIMS for one year as a Research Associate and worked on combined screening for aneuploidies and preeclampsia in first trimester.
She has published articles in International Journals and participated in numerous national and international conferences and is actively involved in research, training and academic programmes related to Fetal Medicine.
